Bought my Sullivan guitar from Steve at AMW. Outstanding customer service... he even returned the Red Molly hat i left at their store on his own dime! I can't speak highly enough of the service, patience and advice... plus any friend of Scott Ainslie is a friend of mine!
Before i duck into the phone booth and emerge wearing my Folksinger cape, during daylight hours I am part of the Graphic Arts program at SHSB&T... without exaggeration, the best place I have ever worked. If you're interested in graphic design, come check our program out. (I also do personalized one-on-one instruction in Adobe inDesign, Adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Quark XPress.)
My design and copywriting web site, not quite finished yet. Okay, it's barely started... it'll be here someday!
I struggled with keeping my music web site live, current and looking somewhat designed for almost two years. Every time I had a tech problem, it was either a multiple-call struggle, or the problems never did get fixed. I switched to Hostbaby and have been nothing but impressed at how easy they make it. Frankly, I'd rather put spare time towards my music rather than sweating over the perfect web presence.
Nobody writes songs with a sense of place better than Marc. You can smell the sea salt in the air on the songs from his CD Harbor.
Hannah is one of my favorite singer/songwriters, and i love the times we get to do a split bill or workshop together.
If there was any justice in the world, Jud Caswell would be a household names. One of the finest performing songwriters on the scene today.
I fell in love with Joe Crookston's music the first time I heard Fall Down as the Rain. One of the few performers I can think of that have gotten better ever time I've heard him live, and to this day, the only person doing this for a living who has ever asked me to open a show for him.
I was fortunate enough to work on the graphic design for Carolann's last three CDs. Carolann is a fine musician and songwriter, and if you only knew her through her work in Red Molly, you deserve to check her solo work out, too.
One of the nation's premiere arts festivals... right here in Happy Valley.
An annual event held at Juniata College in beautiful Huntingdon County, with host band Simple Gifts and an annually-changing roster of teaching and performing artists.
Based in Mansfield, Massachusetts, this fine organization runs a wonderful annual songwriting competition - check out some of the past winners! - and presents about 8 great shows a year.

It's been a while, but I'm back hosting open mics! Join us for a true acoustic open mic in the beautiful historic space of the Print Factory in Bellefonte. First Thursday of every month. Event 6-8, sign up in person before the event. Note: This is a true acoustic event. No sound reinforcement is provided. Poets, pickers, musicians, comics, monologues all welcome in this safe and supportive environment
So happy to be returning with my dear friend Hannah to split a set of mostly original music at Willard Plaza during Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts! Come join us - no button etc. required.
Happy to be hosting and performing in one of my favorite Arts Festival traditions, the singer songwriter showcase to help close out the Festival on Sunday. This year I'll be joined by Michael Lundy of Prairie Dogma, Jason Yoder, and we're happy to include the return of State College's own Mo Stroemel, fresh in from Nashville. Each performer will play a set of about 35-40 minutes, order to be determined. Come join us!

State College Alliance Church, 1221 Whitehall Road , State College
Join us on Friday, August 7, from 5–8 pm at the State College Alliance Church for family-friendly hobby horse races, hands-on crafts, and live music from Jim Colbert (hey, that's me!) Whether you're a seasoned rider or simply looking for a fun night out with the family, there's something for everyone to enjoy! I'm even going to learn a few horse-related songs to throw in my set list. Yeehaw and giddy up, everybody!
Lemont Village Green, Lemont, PA, Behind the Center for Well-Being, Lemont
An annual tradition, as we coax Steve out of his musical retirement with the offer of some Sue Smith-baked cookies and begging and pleading on my part. :) Seriously though, this is one of my favorite gigs of the year, and I love sharing the evening with one of my best friends. Bring the kids, bring the dog, bring a lawn chair and enjoy a night of original acoustic music!
